Annunciation Parish Mission
October 7-9, 2018

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Parish Mission?

A Parish Mission is like a retreat; it refreshes and revitalizes our spiritual life. Although the format can differ, most parish missions take place on 3 consecutive evenings. One or more presenters—who can be either priests, religious, or laypersons—engage parishioners by proclaiming the Word of God and inspiring a deeper conversion to Jesus Christ and His Church.

“A parish mission is designed as a ‘shot in the arm’ for the faith life of the parish,” says Ed Duncklee, Director of Faith Formation at St Sebastian Parish in Milwaukee. “It is not a class, or a lecture, or continuing education; a mission seeks to touch the heart of faith.”

Often Parish Missions include time for discussion and fellowship; some also provide opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Eucharistic Adoration.

What is the format of Annunciation’s 2018 Parish Mission?

Michael Ruzicki will present “Pope Francis’ Vision of Parish: A Place of Hospitality, Listening, and Communion” on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, October 7-9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow each evening. We will share more details as they become available.

Who is Michael Ruzicki?
Michael Ruzicki serves as the Media and Events Coordinator for Liturgy Training Publications and the Director of Music for Notre Dame de Chicago Parish in Chicago, IL. Before arriving at LTP, Michael served as Coordinator of Adult and Sacramental Formation and the Director of the Archdiocesan Music Ministry for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Michael is a graduate of The Catholic University of America (religion, art and theatre) and the Washington Theological Union (theological and pastoral studies) in Washington, DC.

Who should attend the Parish Mission?

All adult members of Annunciation and St Joseph’s are encouraged to attend, as well as any interested friends or acquaintances.

Do I have to attend all 3 evenings?

Of course, we encourage everyone to attend all 3 evenings; the more effort you put into participating, the more you’ll get out of it. That being said, if you cannot come on all the nights, that doesn’t mean you have to miss it altogether! Please come as often as you can.

Is child care provided?

Yes, free child care is provided on all 3 evenings.

Is there a cost to attend?

There is no cost to attend! If you wish to contribute something toward the evenings’ expenses, a free will offering will be available.

If you have further questions, please contact the Parish Office at 928-3513.

The Knights of Columbus of St. Kilian Hartford have had the Radio Rosary for 42 years.   The radio station in Hartford has decided not to allow that any more.  They have moved to the Waupun radio station WFDL 1170 or online @ www.1170radio.com.  In order to continue to bring this important prayer to everyone there is a cost.   If you are interested in donating, the cost is $140 a week.  You can donate any amount you prefer.  Make the check out to the parish and we will forward all monies to them.  You can also have intentions on certain days if you would like.   The Rosary is recited every day at 12:35 PM 7 days a week.
